New investment secured to save the beleaguered publisher; further details expected in future weeks...
Earlier this week we reported on how two developers had cut their ties with Digital Jesters over the issue of contract breach, specifically with lack of payment. Now it seems that a company called Myriad Interactive has stepped in to save the publisher.
Headed by former President and COO of Apple Computers Marco Landi, Myriad is expected to inject $5 million into the so-called DJ Group of brands, which includes DJ Interactive, DJ Distribution, Digital Jesters, Turtle Games and Monte Cristo.
The investment is part of an expansion in the UK and around the world, which is expected to bring over 100 jobs to the UK with managerial, development, and specialist roles available.
"We've big plans for the DJ Group," says Marco Landi, President, Myriad Interactive. "We've already set up our infrastructure, and it's our intention that this new group will quickly grow through expansion and acquisition into a real major player. Crazy Frog Racer will really set out our stall. We're staffing up quickly and will be making more announcements shortly.â
Whether this will be a case of phoenix rising or a false dawn for DJ will have to be seen in the coming weeks and months. Weâll have more on this as it happens.
