Project Origin to continue the story of Alma and her paranormal reign of terror on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC...

After asking gamers to submit their ideas for what the name of Monolith's sequel to F.E.A.R. should be, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have today confirmed the final title: Project Origin.

In production for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, Project Origin continues where F.E.A.R. left off, with Alma (the ghostly apparition in the red dress and a rather debatable attitude) free to wreak havoc across one of the major US cities.

"Project Origin is the name we can stand behind since it was picked by the gaming community, and this game marks a new beginning for the franchise," says Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "With the consoles and the PC, we're dedicated to add a new game dynamic to the universe and build upon what the players loved about the original game."

"Our team really enjoyed letting the fans drive the naming process, and we are excited to expand upon the work we began in the original game and establish Project Origin as a premier gaming franchise in its own right," said Troy Skinner, Producer, Monolith Productions.

Project Origin is due for release during 2008; Monolith are also working on the sequel to 2005's Condemned, also set to arrive next year.

Lame, lame, lame, lame. Dull uninteresting and cliched.
Then I suppose the name was generated by residents of North America only, not known for their literary prowess. If I'd been allowed to enter a name it would have been Alma Mater: Terror's Orig... [ Read full comment... ]
