Microsoft confirms an eight-hour shut down for Xbox Live; not the spring update, just server updates...


Microsoft has today announced that Xbox 360 gamers will be putting PGR4 into neutral, laying down their Covenant plasma grenades in Halo 3, and silencing the Locust Horde, with confirmation that Xbox Live will be offline for eight hours on Monday (April 21st), between 10am and 6pm BST.

Xbox Live's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb has been quick to point out that the down time won't mean the launch of the 'Spring Update'; instead, the online system is being taken offline for server maintenance. The update will also affect the 'My Xbox' section on the Xbox.com website.

No Live, huh? Finally...a few hours away from abusive squeaky teenagers...

tell me again why arcade and core owners will have to buy the hdd, you either cant read or you just couldnt be bothered to say the install option (note option meening you dont need the hdd only if you wish to install the game or a small part of it) a... [ Read full comment... ]

Guess it's tough luck for Arcade and Core users. Looks like they'll be forced to pay for the obscenely overpriced HDD if they want to play some 360 games in future.

holme you gotta bargan hunt i got the network addaptor for £32 and by the sound of it blu-ray is comming to the 360 just look for it on this very site.

Actually the 360 has a better graphics processor and more stable O/Sthan the ps3- just because the core processor is quicker doesnt actually really make as much differece as as you would expect. (think running assasins creed on a quad core with a i84... [ Read full comment... ]
