Now Nintendo turns the living room into a fitness center for the whole family with Wii Fit and the Wii Balance Board. Family members will have fun getting a workout, and talking about and comparing their results and progress on a new channel on the Wii Menu. Miyamoto Talks Super Mario Galaxy Sequel News

Surely not, but we'll probably have to wait a long time for it...

Within an interview celebrating Famitsu's 1000 issue, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has hinted towards a successor to Super Mario Galaxy and teased towards the latest entry in the Legend of Zelda series.

Although refusing to mention any specifics, we're left hoping it won't be the traditional long wait until Mario and Link surface again.

Speaking more candidly about the Japanese success of Wii Fit, Miyamoto-san suggests that Nintendo will look at stand-alone titles that support the Balance Board, provided Wii Fit continues its success abroad.

Rekindling Nintendo President Satoru Iwata's recent comments, Miyamoto-san suggests that 2008 will be the year that Nintendo plans to challenge itself on the uses of the Nintendo DS. Amidst suggestions the popular portable will gain PDA-like functionality, Miyamoto-san portrays a picture of connected entertainment whether you're at home or out and about.

I got a good workout the moment I bought Wii Fit. Carrying it around as I did my shopping on a hot day and I had lost a few pounds before it was even out of the box (and thats not just the 53 pounds in my back pocket)

Well I suppose your weight is going to substantially drop after taking 70 notes from your back pocket - so in a way, Wii Fit is already working before you've even plugged it in :)

Oooh, I hate how the US and asian market always treat the EUropean market as worthless. No gun, no wiifit... nothing for christmas. These would've been the perfect presents for my somewhat crazy niece! :)
