Shigeru Miyamoto reveals some more interesting information at the D.I.C.E summit…

Whilst speaking to American journalists at the D.I.C.E summit; Shigeru Miyamoto revealed some interesting information about Metal Gear Solid, Mario Kart and EA games.

Miyamoto-san revealed a number of interesting tit-bits on Mario Kart; perhaps most importantly suggesting that the game wonât be online and that Nintendo still does not see a viable future in online games â“ however we can definitely expect to see the game at E3 where Nintendo are promising to bring some innovative new ideas to the franchise and hopefully not along the same tired lines that Mario Kart 64 was, those hoping for a mass of Nintendo online titles this year will probably be disappointedâ¦

However Nintendo are not ignoring networked games, and claims to be really pushing the GameCube-GameBoy Advance connectivity this year with some stunning new ideas. Miyamoto revealed that he hopes other publishers would take to the idea this year and that he has had conversations with EA, in order to see the connectivity featured predominantly in their titles.

After the recent European revelations Miyamoto confirmed that Hideo Kojima is bringing the Metal Gear Solid franchise to Nintendo, but denied that the game would make use of the GC-GBA connectivity feature!
