Mind Control Mario Party??? News

Rumours suggest that the latest title will be playable without joypads…

Having recently confirmed details on the âRevolutionâ at a recent investors meeting in Japan, Nintendo confirmed the development of Mario Party 6.

Whilst the fact that a new title in the popular series is under development comes as no surprise, comments from Nintendoâs President Satoru Iwata at the time certainly should cause a few blanked expressions, with the confirmation that the game can be played without a controller.

Iwata claimed during the conference that âIn the past, there have been people who have felt controllers are hard to deal with and did not play games, but this (game) will seek to appeal to those people,â

Although the prospect of âmind-controlâ Mario Party excites us, we sense that this will be more along the lines of a peripheral similar to EyeToy, backing up the recent news of a trademark registration and some bizarre images that appeared to promote such a peripheral.

Intriguingly the comments made from Nintendo regarding their next machine seems to suggest that Nintendo want us to change the way they play games; perhaps even going to the extremes of looking to ditch game controllers.

Let us know your opinions; will Revolution see as swapping controllers for neural implants, and âjackingâ into the machine â“ given Nintendoâs family orientated nature we canât exactly see this happening, however we fully expect the Revolution to be significantly different to what weâve had in the past.
