Electronic Arts confirms a caricatured version of Ronaldinho for the upcoming Wii version of FIFA 08...

EA Sports has today confirmed that multiple FIFA World Player of the Year winner Ronaldinho has been caricatured as a Mii for upcoming footie title, FIFA 08 on Wii.

Used in the exclusive "Footii Party with Ronaldinho" mode for the Wii version, the Mii'd football player hosts a number of party games including Table Football and Shoot Off, which lean towards multiplayer gameplay. The Wii version of FIFA 08 will also include 'FreeMotion' technology, which EA states will, "help level the playing field for all players and turns FIFA 08 on Wii into a physical, social activity." One question though: if the game is as "easy to pick-up and play" as EA states, why does it come with over 30 tutorials???

Anyway, back to the Mii'd Ronaldinho; speaking about his upcoming stylised look, Ronaldinho commented, "My character looks like he enjoys playing football and shares my passion for the game. This is important to me. Whether you are playing football on the pitch or my party games in FIFA 08 on the Wii, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience."

"When Ronaldinho steps on to the football pitch, he plays with passion and energy. We've brought that same spirit to FIFA 08 on Wii - it is fun, high-energy entertainment the entire family can enjoy," said Senior Producer Tim Tschirner.

FIFA 08 is scheduled for release on Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PlayStation2, Nintendo DS, PSP, and PC later in the year.
