Microsoft confirms plans on an alternative joypad design for 360 first-person-shooters...


Currently taking place at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center, Microsoft's Gamefest event has already witnessed the Seattle giant's attempt to harness the interest in indie development with confirmation that the XNA Game Studio Express will be made available to the general public.

Although few details on forthcoming Xbox 360 titles have emerged, comments attributed to Microsoft's Product Unit Manager, Robert S. Walker, via Shacknews have hinted at the possibility of a new "hardcore" joypad emerging for the Xbox 360.

Sticking firmly to its stance against keyboard and mouse control setups for 360 titles, Microsoft is currently looking at alternative designs to the right thumbstick as a means to increase precision for first-person-shooters and other such popular titles amongst the Xbox crowd.

Exactly what Microsoft is up to remains a mystery, but hopefully we can expect further details to emerge shortly.

oh yeah just for the record the chip intel are working on is a 16 core chip possibly even going as far as a 32 core either way the next xbox will have all the features of the ps3 and more (though xbox live still wont be free i dont have a problem wit... [ Read full comment... ]

i bought a ps3 and i HAVE not looked back. even if alot of the games don't utilise it's 8 core (just for you 360 fanboys that's 6 core more than your pathetic dual core) processor well but in time they will. i think the 360 is at it's peak and won't ... [ Read full comment... ]
