Microsoft reacts aggressively towards the whole issue of backwards compatibility…
As TVG readers will know we recently contacted Microsoft regarding the Xbox2 backwards compatibility issue that has been plaguing the net during the last couple of days, and received confirmation that nothing has been finalised as of yet.
However a more aggressive-minded Microsoft representative today went on the war path regarding the situation, claiming to teamXbox âRecent stories in the press about future Xbox products are nothing more than pulp fiction. Microsoft hasnât made any announcements regarding the next generation, so itâs far too early to speculate about specifics, including backward compatibility. In fact, this media conjecture is irresponsible. The credibility of any publication willing to compromise fact in favour of a catchy headline must be questioned. Xbox fans are smart enough to distinguish truth from sensational reporting.â
Hopefully things can now take a rest, before next weekâs speculation rises once again; as always we suggest waiting for an official announcement before believing anything.
