Microsoft & MTV Team Up to Unveil Next Xbox News

World premiere of Microsoft’s next-generation console is set for an unveiling on MTV in May...
Following on from earlier news, Microsoft has today confirmed that it has teamed up with MTV to publicly unveil their next-gen console in a special programme hosted by Elijah âMr Frodoâ Wood called âMTV Presents: The Next Generation Xbox Revealedâ. D-day for the unveiling has been confirmed as May 12th 2005 at 9.30 EDT in the United States, with other territories following suit the day after.
As well as revealing the ethos of Xbox 360, the special programme will also screen gameplay from some of the consoleâs forthcoming titles, with vogue band The Killers providing some live performances. Confirming the special, Neil Thompson, Director of UK & Northern Europe Home and Entertainment Division at MTV said, âWe recognise and celebrate our viewersâ passion for gaming and are excited to be working with Microsoft to launch such a significant entertainment productâ¦Weâre proud that Microsoft considers MTV the premier global network to launch its new Xbox gaming console and reveal the first look to MTV viewers around the world.â
Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Publishing for Xbox at Microsoft commented, âJust as MTV revolutionised the way the world experiences music, the next-generation video game console from Xbox will spark a revolution in how consumers experience games and other forms of digital entertainmentâ¦We are ecstatic about our alliance with MTV and unveiling a video game platform in a way that has never been done.â

Incidentally the countdown on ARG www.outcolony.net ends around May 11th/12th so for all you fanboys expecting to get (and these are real expectations from various forums) free Xbox 360s for the whole colony or even passes to E3 2005, it looks as if an exclusive screening for all MTV viewers is your reward for solving those damn riddles.
