Microsoft Working On "A Totally New Live Experience" News

Job posting hints at a "completely new way for mainstream audiences to enjoy the Xbox and Live"...


According to a job posting on Games On Deck, Microsoft are looking for a Program Manager to lead a team that's "building the games, the console interface and logic, and the server support for a totally new Live experience".

The job listing is vague on the exact changes that will be implemented under this endeavour, but it does suggest significant changes to Live beyond the current bi-annual update framework:

"Both the games and the dashboard experience will be deeply paired with dynamic server support to create a compelling, fresh scenario each time."

While further details specify that Microsoft "are looking for a passionate Games Producer to help implement our first generation games that will run in this new environment".

The listing also specifies the Xbox 360 as the platform that these Live changes will be made on, eliminating the possibility that the team will be working towards Microsoft's next Xbox machine.

Is this a new direction for Live, instigating new content to rival Sony's Home offerings for PSN?

oh yeah just for the record the chip intel are working on is a 16 core chip possibly even going as far as a 32 core either way the next xbox will have all the features of the ps3 and more (though xbox live still wont be free i dont have a problem wit... [ Read full comment... ]

i bought a ps3 and i HAVE not looked back. even if alot of the games don't utilise it's 8 core (just for you 360 fanboys that's 6 core more than your pathetic dual core) processor well but in time they will. i think the 360 is at it's peak and won't ... [ Read full comment... ]
