Microsoft Sued Over Halo 2 SE Cases News

Itās been announced that Scandinavian firm Glud & Marstrand has filed for legal action against Microsoft, alleging that the corporation broke a string of laws and Non-Disclosure Agreements between the two companies over the metal cases used to house the Special Editions of Halo 2.
Links between the two companies were first identified as far back as 2002, when G&M (Scandinaviaās largest metal packaging firm) contacted Microsoft with an offer to produce metal cases for videogames; the two signed respective NDAs and G&M sent packaging information to the Seattle based corporation.
The following year Microsoft confirmed to G&M that they wanted a metal case produced for Halo 2, and linked G&M up with a company called Viva, a plastics supplier. According to the claims made by G&M, Microsoft then asked for both companies to propose ideas for metal cases knowing that Viva would become a rival to G&M; the Scandinavian firm has said that had they realised they were being lined up as rivals, they wouldnāt have shared information about their proprietary technologies.
The deal with G&M fell through leaving Viva with the responsibility of producing the metal case that Glud & Marstrand say contains several of their proprietary technologies; furthermore, Viva are said to have also filed for several patents for the case that feature the G&M technologies.
The result is that G&M now accuse both Microsoft and Viva of forming a conspiracy against them, subsequently leaving the company no option but to file for the legal action in a Washington State Court.
