Halo 3 will pick up where Halo 2 left off. The Master Chief is returning to Earth to finish the fight. The Covenant occupation of Earth has uncovered a massive and ancient object beneath the African sands - an object who's secrets have yet to be revealed. Earth's forces are battered and beaten. The Master Chief's AI companion Cortana is still trapped in the clutches of the Gravemind - a horrifying Flood intelligence, and a civil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant.

Microsoft Organises Halo 3 Competition News

Halo 3 gamers across Europe will be able to take part in the competition from 18th-30th March...


Halo 3 has dominated the Xbox Live charts since its release last September and now Microsoft has organised an official Halo 3 competition for European gamers. Due to run between the 18th and 30th of March, prizes will include exclusive Halo 3 artwork, a 40 inch HDTV and an Xbox 360 Elite.

Nationwide competitions will take place across European countries initially, with the top ranked player in each country being crowned the national champ (receiving Halo 3 artwork in the process). Each champion then goes on to compete in a one-off European final.

If you want to get involved, our advice is to get practicing on Halo 3's Slayer, King of the Hill and Oddball game modes because Microsoft has confirmed that these will be the modes used in the competition.

Entering is merely a case of logging onto Live and finding a Halo 3 competition banner to click on, while further details are avilable on Xbox.com.
