Microsoft Denies 360 Price Drop News

Get a 360 now Microsoft urges, however, we'd advise the frugal to wait a little longer...
Despite the persistent rumours suggesting a significant price reduction for the Xbox 360 later in the year (just in time for Christmas and the Playstation3), Microsoft's Group Manager PR Communications, John Porcaro, has recently used his blog to urge people to adopt to the 360 now as there are "currently no plans for a price drop this fall". Admittedly it's not an official statement, so we won't hold Porcaro to his word when the inevitable price cut materialises later in the year.
With talk of the Core pack dropping below the £200 figure and a similar such drop for the Premium pack, many are playing a wait-and-see game until the third-wave of 360 titles arrive along with the introduction of the Playstation3.
By November Microsoft should have worked on reducing the manufacturing costs of the 360, and will be long-overdue a price cut if previous formats are anything to go by. That time period will also see the release of third-wave titles such as Gears of War, which will provide a better image of the 360 in action and compare very favourably to launch titles on the PS3 - besides with a barren Summer release line-up, the World Cup and still no sign of Hyper Streetfighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, why should you part with the cash at this stage???
