Microsoft Acquire BioWare - Round Two??? News

Wait a second, wasn’t the same thing said last year…
With weeks until E3, itâs time for the rumour-mill to blow open and let forth a flood of gossip and speculation.
The latest, today suggests that Microsoftâs âmajorâ announcement will come in the form of an acquisition announcement of Canadian based BioWare.
The rumour of a BioWare acquisition isnât exactly new, with numerous publications suggesting that a deal would be in place for E3 last year; as with most rumours, nothing ever actually materialised and the dust quickly settled.
If true the move has to be seen as a significant signing for Microsoft, certainly of an equal stature with the infamous Rare agreement; whether or not it will be for the same sensational fee remains to be seen.
BioWare enjoy an unparalleled level of support within the PC gaming circle, whilst Xbox owners are quickly beginning to join the cause after the success of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the forthcoming Jade Empire; certainly this would bolster Microsoft Game Studios position within the games industry.
On a word of caution, it should be noted that no mention of this has appeared in the financials, usually a good source when such large movements are in the pipeline; weâll hopefully have more information soon.
