Take-Two CEO still confident in the success of Max Payne, however Remedy rumoured to be off the project…
The future of Max Payne was called into some doubt after âMax Payne 2â failed to set the charts alight upon its release last year; thankfully however Max Payne fans can draw a sigh of relief in the knowledge that there will be at least one more title to come.
Speaking at the 17th Annual Bear Stearns Media, Entertainment and Information Conference, Jeff Lapin, CEO Take-Two Interactive claimed, âThereâll be another Max Payneâ. However it seems we wonât be seeing the return of Max soon, with Lapin claiming that it would take a few years to make it as spectacular as possible.
Interestingly itâs been rumoured that Remedy Games wonât be handling the third title, having created the concept and developed the first two titles; with a comment appearing on ShackNews allegedly coming from a Remedy level designer, claiming âFYI: We are not making Max Payne 3â
