A few months back it appeared that Mario Tennis might be the first title to officially support online play; however these were today dashed…
Mario fans may remember earlier in the year an update to the official European Nintendo website, which suggested that the forthcoming Mario Tennis would feature online play for the GameCube.
Whilst this was questioned at the time and believed to be a mistake on Europeâs behalf, the issue was today clarified with official confirmation appearing on numerous sites suggesting that the title will NOT feature online play.
Certainly the original article on Nintendoâs website has been cleaned up to eliminate any signs of online ever being mentioned; so for now it looks as though Mario fans will have to make do with four-player splitscreen.
