EA and Nintendo confirm an all-star line-up for NBA Street V3...

In what has to be one of the strangest cross-overās to hit the videogames industry, EA and Nintendo today confirmed that Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach are set to appear in the GameCube release of NBA Street V3.

Scheduled for release on February 18th 2005, NBA Street V3 features some of the biggest NBA stars, a collection of All-Time greats and for the first time Messier Mario & Co in a non-stop, action-packed take on basketball in the streets. The third chapter introduces the all-new Trick Stick and interactive GameBreaker control, helping to elevate the game with its unmistakable style and attitude.

Perhaps more importantly then what Mario looks like on the court, is the fact that the announcement highlights the continued strong relationship between Nintendo and EA. Despite once being a tenuous association, major ties were made prior to E3 in 2003, and despite the GameCubeās relative failure to catch up with the Playstation2, the fact that Nintendo can count on the assistance of EA must surely come as welcoming relief for the next console wars ā“ after all thereās very few other third-party publishers who can āmake or breakā a system, just ask SEGA.
