Mario Kart: Double Dash - Gameplay Details News

OK so we've calmed down now and can bring you actual gameplay details...

OK so weāll admit it we got a bit carried away when the first screens from Mario Kart: Double Dash appeared; fortunately weāve calmed ourselves down somewhat an can bring you specific details on the eagerly awaited title.

As we initially suspected the carts are manned by two drivers, however players are free to swap these on the fly suggesting that deep tactics will be involved in the GameCube update. The character list currently includes:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Baby Mario
  • Baby Luigi
  • Yoshi
  • Birdo
  • Wario
  • Waluigi
  • Donkey Kong
  • Diddy Kong
  • Bowser
  • Bowser Jr.
  • Koopa
  • Paratroopa

Itās believed that unlike previous versions that each of the characters will have substantially different attributes and that matching the correct pair for the right race and swapping between them will be the crucial ingredient to winning the race. Each character begins the race with six normal items and access to a further eight that are specific to the character.

We certainly love the looks of this game and canāt wait to put it through its paces, hopefully weāll have more information and media before the games unveiling at E3.
