First ever screens and details of Major A` football sequel.
Konami are in a fortunate position, asides from EA`s style-over-substance FIFA titles, they`ve got the football market practically to themselves. Let me remind you that football is the most popular sport on the planet, whilst EA`s FIFA franchise is their most popular selling title ever, eclipsing the likes of their Madden and NBA titles.
Konami's stranglehold on the football genre began back in the days of the SNES, with the sublime ISS, developed by Major A. Despite a crowning appearance on the N64 and a quick port to the PS2, the series saw itself overtaken by the Pro Evolution franchise, itself developed by Konami and released to critical acclaim on the Playstation and more recently on the Playstation2.
Being in the minority, we here at TVG prefer Major A's ISS series, so it was with smiles galore when these first ever screens of ISS 2 appeared on the PS2. The game promises radically improved visuals when compared to the first PS2 title, moving it alongside the recently released Pro Evolution Soccer, whilst the same intuitive gameplay that won the series so much success will feature.
No word on a release date as of yet, however we`ll have more details on this very, very soon.
