Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is set in a world overrun by private military companies (PMCs), wars are no longer fought over nations or ideologies. Rather, they are micro-managed by overarching PMCs, right down to the bullet. Joined by a familiar cast of characters, Solid Snake must once again return to the battlefield to confront a life-long rival who is manipulating wars from the one world which soldiers will always have a place...

Japanese report presumably "misguided" with suggestions that Snake will be making an appearance soon...


A recent Japanese article focussing on the major reason to own a PlayStation3 (possibly the only basis at present), Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, has whipped up fans hysteria with suggestions that the game could be available, in Japan at least, by Spring 2007.

Although desperate for any further information, it's perhaps worth treating this with a little caution, as Konami have only hinted at a late 2007 release in the past - suggesting we probably won't see it until some point in 2008 (seems so long away).

I'm a little confused. Was Mr. Kojima going to end his highly acclaimed MGS franchise with the grand finale of having Solid Snake ascend up into heaven in a flying Porshe? Very interesting.

This is a prime example of developers blaming someone/something else for their short falls. For an example of a great looking game that relied on superb programming (and not a super computer) you only have to look at Half Life 2. I wish these lazy ... [ Read full comment... ]

I dont really care how good it looks as long as it plays well.I think the best in the series is Solid on ps1.it plays great and and has a great story.stick to that and all is well in my book.Besides it will hit the 360 in a year or two.lol.be well al... [ Read full comment... ]

again.... it doesn't matter what console you use, its up to the developers to bring the goods...After all, what good is an xbox or ps3 if the games are no good. Stop arguing about which console is best, and just enjoy the games

besides haze, killzone 2, R2, FF, and many more ps3 just sucks....jp ..... ps3 is gonna win this year
360 is a little baby compared to the ps3 and which get sick more often ..
