MGS4 Shifts Close To Half Million Across Japan News

Not only has Snake managed to climb his way to the top of the UK charts, but also achieved similar success across Japan...


Figures from Enterbrain suggest that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has notched up impressive sales of 476,334 copies in the first four days of release, representing a figure of approximately 25% of all PS3 owners in Japan.

Unlike the UK where Guns of the Patriots outsold all previous MGS titles with the exception of MGS2: Sons of the Patriots, initial Japanese sales put it above previous games in the series with the exception of MGS3: Snake Eater which recorded first week sales of 487,156 copies across the region.

Despite the early success initial indications suggest that Guns of the Patriots isn't the game to significantly boost sales of the PS3 format. Following GTA4's failure to shift units, we have to ask which game will actually become the much vaunted system seller.

1. ITS METAL GEAR! EVEN FOR A METAL GEAR GAME THIS GAME IS FREAKING ROCK SOLID!
2. It's the only mgs game with a multiplayer component. (except for mgs3:subsistence)

beauty and the beast, liquid, snake, frank jaguer, raiden, roy campbell, naomi, otacon, vamp, all great characters in mgs4 except frank aka grey fox in mgs1

That was a terrible review for an incredible game, landmark scenes of the game were ruined for first time players.
