M-Systems Announce Xbox Agreement News

M-Systems to provide customised memory units for future Xbox products…
M-Systems, a manufacturer of flash memory, today announced that it has secured an agreement to provide storage products for use in future versions of the Xbox.
The announcement continues to fuel the debate as to whether Xbox2 will ship with a HDD, coming after recent suggestions that Microsoft would expand Xbox Live! to allow for limited online storage.
The agreement states that M-Systems would develop customised memory units for future Xbox products and services, however itâs believed that these would be of significantly higher storage capacity then the current 8MB Xbox memory units.
The moves are being made as Microsoft continues to address the price impact of including a HDD in Xbox2.
