New DX10 features, multiplayer maps and free Xbox 360 content on the way...
Further DX10 improvements and new content is heading to Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on August 10th, via a new patch and the release of a new multiplayer map-pack on August 16th.
Taking greater advantage of what DX10 has to offer, the patch utitlises Geometry Shader technology to improve overall visual quality through improved depth of field effects, better motion blur and fur shading techniques on opponents.
The patch will also implement a basic chatting system with the ability to communicate via four default messages in the lobby, in-game and after the match.
PC Map Pack #2 will also be available as a free download, including the following maps:
Battleground - an abandoned town scattered with rubble from ruined buildings, featuring indoor/outdoor areas with multi-level vantage points
Lost Technology - a throw-back to the good ol' days of pixelated 8-bit gaming
Ruins - ancient temples set amidst a lush jungle
Ice Drop - a frigid glacier with lots of peaks, nooks and crannies.
Finally, not forgetting Xbox 360 owners, Capcom confirmed that the previously premium Lost Technology, Ruins and Ice Drop maps will be made available for free on Xbox Live Marketplace from August 16th. A further patch is also on the way to improve connectivity issues that some players have incurred.
