Capcom celebrates a second success on the Xbox 360 as the release of Lost Planet looms on the horizon...

Gearing up for one of the Xbox 360 first major releases of the New Year and hoping to emulate the success of their previous title, Capcom today announced that combined downloads of the Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions single-player and multiplayer demo have passed the one million mark. Quickly establishing itself as a favourite on Xbox Live, 360 gamers have logged more than 300,000 hours since the release of the multiplayer demo on November 23rd.

"Xbox 360 players have now had two opportunities to try Lost Planet since the first demo was released in May, and they have in huge numbers," said Hiroshi Tobisawa, President of Capcom Europe. "Since we made the multiplayer demo available through Xbox Marketplace, there have been hundreds of thousands of hours spent playing the game, which is a great testament to the quality of Lost Planet. This latest demo has completely energized the Xbox community, giving them something to look forward to in the New Year, when the next big hit Xbox 360 title hits retail."

Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions will launch across Europe on January 12th in both Standard and Limited Edition versions, the latter of which includes an additional multiplayer map (beyond the customary artwork, bonus videos, yackety smackety) that won't make it onto the Xbox Live Marketplace until Summer 2007.
