Sony and Nintendo set to reveal more at next month's Game Developers Conference...


Next month's Games Developer Conference should herald a few surprises, with Sony and Nintendo's top brass highlighting the future directions of their companies.

In a headline that was likely thought about for far too long, President Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison, will reveal what the Playstation3 has to offer in a keynote speech entitled "Playstation 3: Beyond the Box". The keynote promises to provide "a look at hot new technology and new business models" which will help fuel the growth of the industry to new consumers.

As previously revealed, Nintendo's President Satoru Iwata keynote follows the day after on March 23rd. The speech entitled "Disrupting Development" is likely to focus on Nintendo's "Blue Ocean" business strategies, announced previously at E3'05 and mentioned recently, which finds the Japanese giant effectively creating new market areas by disrupting the stale market via the introduction of new technologies and concepts - ala Nintendo DS, iPod.

not true. mine jumped 50 to 100 and i have had no problems since the update. i just hope that theres patches coming out for trophies soon...

very cool as in dead and yes sony admitted the new firmware can potentially kill a ps3 if the download leaps from 50% to 100% instead of ie 51%52%53% ect
