The sequel to Sony's dizzying platformer is set for release later this year according to SCE UK...
Sony Computer Entertainment UK's Product Manager, Claire Backhouse, has confirmed that a sequel to LocoRoco is on the way for the PSP. LocoRoco 2 is scheduled for release on Sony's handheld later this year.
Backhouse revealed the sequel in an interview with MCV, although an exact shipping date wasn't mentioned.
A sequel has been in the offing for a while now after the game's Director, Tsutomu Kouno, revealed at last year's Develop conference that he was considering doing a follow up to the original. However, up until now an official confirmation and release window had not been unveiled.
The first LocoRoco game was released in 2006 and has been a favourite of PSP owners ever since. It also won critical acclaim for its innovative mix of platform gameplay and a revolving stage controlled by the PSP's shoulder buttons.
