Nintendo report huge demand for Link's return in The Wind Waker...
Link has once again come to the rescue of Nintendo, as the Japanese publisher confirmed the European success of his recent release in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
Over 300,000 copies of The Wind Waker have been sold across Europe on its first weekend of release, and as a result GameCube sales more then tripled across the same period.
The massive amounts of demand for the title has seen shortages in numerous retail outlets across the country; Nintendo have assured us that they intend to receive more shipments by the end of next week.
David Gosen, managing director, Nintendo of Europe commented, âThe sales for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have been phenomenal this weekend and we are working very hard to ensure our European retailers continue to have enough stock to meet consumer demand. These excellent sales reflect our belief that this is the most eagerly anticipated game of the year and a very important title for NINTENDO GAMECUBE.â
