Konami release the first information on the latest title in the acclaimed football series...
Konami of Japan today released the first information on the next title in the critically acclaimed Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution series for the Playstation2.
As expected it appears as though online play will not make it into Winning Eleven 7, although the game is believed to contain enhanced online features along the lines of Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution for updated player information.
Additional enhancements include upping the number of playable teams in the Master League from 40 to 64, and the inclusion of a player search to make it easier to find the correct player youâre after.
The Press Release makes notice of a new âOriginal Dribble Challengeâ which we believe is an addition to the training mode, whilst a new feature entitled the âWE Shopâ has been added allowing you to purchase bonuses and special items with the points that you accrue throughout the game.
Weâre hoping but not expecting that the visual engine has been enhanced as Pro Evo is beginning to look a little weak compared to the FIFA series, and hope that Konami donât fall into the pit of releasing seasonal upgrades with few enhancements; having said that weâve already pre-booked our import copyâ¦
Winning Eleven 7 is scheduled for release in Japan on August 7th, no word on when the crossover to Pro Evolution Soccer 3 will make it to European shores or whether the game will be released on any other formats.
