New Contra title heading to the PS2 and once again they've changed the view...
The rumour of a new Contra title has been floating around for quite awhile, so fans will be pleased to know that Konami today made it official at Konamiâs Gamers Day, currently being held in America.
Surprisingly the new version will not stick to the same 2D formula of last years âContra: Shattered Soldiersâ, but instead switch to an overhead view similar to that seen in the mediocre on the PSOne from Appaloosa.
Hardened hero Bill Rizer once again returns to the action, whilst alongside him wil be the mysterious samurai known as Genbei Jaguer Yagyû.
The developers claim that the game features an advanced psychics engine, a storyline that ties into the series and an enhanced Hit Rate System, which was introduced in âContra: Shattered Soldiersâ and rewards you with how much damage you inflict in the level.
