A number of surprises lie in store for Metal Gear Solid on the Cube...

US reports are today claming that Konami has officially laid to rest the persistent rumours regarding Metal Gear Solid on the GameCube, by announcing the title complete with a number of surprises in store.

As had previously been rumoured, the game will be called âMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakesâ and IS an adaptation of the original Metal Gear Solid. Under the supervision of Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima, the game is actually in development at Silicon Knights â“ the team who gave us Eternal Darkness.

Whilst specific details are being kept under wraps until E3, itâs believed that the GameCube adaptation will feature a number of new features, plotlines and characters.

âI am tremendously excited to introduce a unique Metal Gear Solid experience to a new audience of gamers as well as collaborate with my mentor in game design, Mr. Miyamoto, on Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes for Nintendo GameCube,â says Hideo Kojima, vice president, Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, Inc.

âMr. Kojima and I have spoken about this project for some time, and Iâm excited our ideas have matched so perfectly,â adds Shigeru Miyamoto, âItâs this shared passion for game creation that has allowed us to collaborate to bring a special Metal Gear project exclusively for Nintendo GameCube.â

Weâll have more details on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes soonâ¦
