For the development teams at Omega Force, every day must seem like Groundhog Day. Not content with creating multiple iterations of the same feudal stories from Japan and China, thanks to the ever-living Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises, publisher Koei seems intent to push a 'third way': Warriors Orochi.
A clash of the franchises that brings together characters from both Warriors series, last year's Warriors Orochi for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, and PC seems to have been so popular (1.5 million units worldwide, apparently), that Koei has confirmed the development of a second instalment. Creatively coined 'Warriors Orochi 2', the follow-up sees the return of the Serpent King Orochi and his army of minions. All is not lost however, as the band of honourable warriors from the Far East renew their alliance, together with new characters from Samurai Warriors 2: Extreme Legends that brings the total tally up to ninety.
Additional features for the Orochi follow-up include new 'Versus' modes, together with the return of the triple character 'Team Battle System'. Warriors Orochi 2 is due to hit Europe this September.
