Oblivion is a single-player game that takes place in Tamriel's capital province, Cyrodiil. You are given the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty, the previous emperor having been killed by an unknown assassin. With no true Emperor, the gates to Oblivion (the equivalent of hell in the world of Tamriel) open, and demons begin to invade Cyrodiil and attack its people and towns. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel.

Bethesda confirms a release date for the new Oblivion quest; further quest line in the works?


Bethesda Softworks has today announced a release date for the new Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion quest Knights of the Nine, days after confirming that the content would be available on Xbox 360 and PC, as well as the upcoming PlayStation3 version.

Available to download on Xbox Live Marketplace and online for PC from November 21st, Bethesda also confirmed that the Knights of the Nine quest will be given a retail release too - which will include the previously released Downloadable Content too.

Knights of the Nine will feature a new quest-line that will explain the ruins found across Cyrodiil, and see players forge their own band of knights in a bid to uncover the Divine Conqueror armour.

"We're pleased to bring this new content to Xbox 360 and to Windows gamers who have been so supportive of Oblivion," said Vlatko Andonov, President of Bethesda Softworks. "To date, the response to our new downloadable content has been terrific - it's easily the most popular downloadable content on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and has been very popular for Windows as well - and we think the opportunity to enjoy an entirely new faction and quests is something our fans will be eager to try."

Scouring the United States Patents and Trademarks Office has also revealed that Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media registered "Shivering Isles" on the same day as "Knights of the Nine" - an early detail about the next quest for Oblivion, perhaps?

all of you people that say its not working becasue a quest pop up wont come thats not important its a minor script problem all you do is go to the island og near the bravil in niban bay and whenn your there you can get the quest message and the game... [ Read full comment... ]

dont lol at me but i play morrwind some times and the db attack is it like that you mean cuz if so they should attack or triger somethink when you slep soon after a new carter

im having the same problem as every1 elss iv got the knights of the nine and shivering isles but no profit no gate even after literaly 1000 hours in every city every part of the imperial city too im giving up! (even after the upgrade to oblivion 1.2)

i have my online updated and i have the disk 2 downloaded and everytime i go wait for 24hrs nothing pops up not even the portal in bravil

I got Shivering Isles for 360,but when I enter the Strange Door,the loading screen comes up,then nothing else. The game doesn't freeze(My xbox is working,and the music is still playing in the background of the loading screen)yet, the area never loads... [ Read full comment... ]

It says that i've downloaded it onto my xbox and oblivion, but when i wait or sleep 24 hours it does not come up with a quest!

im haveing two problems with shivering isles one when i installed it, oblivion wouldnt start up so i uninstalled and reinstalled it then it worked but then i wasnt sure if it still had shivering isles still so i checked through all of the folders in ... [ Read full comment... ]

im havin the same problem as every one but it worked once i kept sleeping like 100 times (i lost count at about 5)but eventually it wrked
