Katamari Damacy: This Is the End News

Prophecies fulfilled as the King of All Cosmos and the Prince adventure comes to an end...

Rumours of the end of Katamari Damacy began last week look to have become true, with a farewell message currently being displayed at the official website.

The announcement marks success for the series creator, Keita Takahashi, who previously criticised the "safe-bet" nature employed by game publishers surrounding popular franchises and churned sequels.

Despite Takahashi-san previous comments in an interview with the BBC suggesting that he wants to move away from videogames into the world of playground design, certain US reports suggest that Professor Katamari is currently working on a new game design, which doesn't involve rolling around and picking things up.

Thankfully the disastrous performance of We Love Katamari (failing to make the All Format Top 40 or the PS2 Top 20) hasn't deterred EA from bringing the last chapter in the series, Me and My Katamari, to the PSP across the UK with a release scheduled for May 5th.

We have but one request - please go out and discover the joys of Katamari Damacy, it's a game quite unlike any other, surely UK gamers aren't just fixated with uninspired brands and sequels???
