The RPG from Japanese developers Nippon Ichi is set for release on Sony's PSP in February 2008...
Publisher KOEI has announced that they will be releasing RPG title Dragoneer's Aria on PSP during February of next year. Developed by Japanese developers Nippon Ichi (in conjunction Hitmaker), the game has been scheduled for this European release following its releases in America and Japan earlier this year.
While Dragoneer's Aria is a traditional Japanese RPG at heart, it will also present a couple of unique gameplay features. These will include a rhythm based guard system; a team system where characters take on the dominant power of the team leader; and a turn based system where gamers can select the order of their attacks and multiply chained combos. The game will be accompanied by a soundtrack featuring classical works by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Chaos breaks loose in Dragoneer's Aria when a mysterious black dragon has a bit of a temper tantrum. This meana that the guardians of all that's good and true in the game world - the regular dragons - have to spring into action with the aid of their protectors, the elite knight corps. It's all up to Valen - a young knight recruit - and the band of warriors he meets along the way, to bring this world back into balance.
Dragoneer's Aria is the latest offering from Nippon Ichi (in conjunction with Hitmaker), continuing an impressive line of well received Japanese RPG titles including Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, La Pucelle and the Disgaea series.
Will Curley, Sales Manager for KOEI Ltd., said, "When you can combine the talents of some of the world's most experienced RPG developers, with the man responsible for the awesome character design in Lineage II and the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach then you clearly have something worth getting excited about. Dragoneer's Aria is shaping up to be the first essential PSP release of 2008."
