American reports suggest that Take-Two could possibly snatch up the publishing rights to Acclaim’s Juiced…

American reports have today linked Take-Two with Juiced, the promising street-racer that Acclaim hoped would deliver them from financial problems, but sadly couldnât be released before the US publisher had to file for bankruptcy.

Juiced was the first title to be developed by the start-up developer Juice Games, who began to shop the title around to other publishers when the problems at Acclaim first became apparent with a rumoured $20 million tag.

However the New York Daily News has today reported that Take-Two have entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire the worldwide publishing rights, reputedly set to cost the New York publisher up to $8.125 million along with a further $1.875 million based upon the games performance.

However the money generated by the possible sale would immediately be absorbed by those owed money, including the Scottish based Fund4Games investment agency that is owed $4.5 million, along with a primary creditor of Acclaim, GMAC Financial, which is still owed $23 million by Acclaim.

Whether or not it will be in time to prevent another fledgling developer from troubles associated with publisher payments remains questionable; weâll have more on the situation soon.
