US reports emerge stating that Microsoft is already working on the follow-up to 'Falcon'...
According to San Jose Mercury News' Dean Takahashi, Microsoft is working hard on the next iteration of guts inside Xbox 360, codenamed 'Jasper'.
Naturally following the newly released 65nm CPU, HDMI-enabled 'Falcon', 'Jasper' will apparently see the 90nm GPU from ATI replaced with a smaller 65nm version, reducing both production costs, energy usage, and the amount of generated heat...hopefully further reducing the number of 'Red Light' incidents.
Takahashi goes on to speculate that the release of Jasper-embedded Xbox 360s would coincide with Holiday 2008 and a further price cut for the console.
Microsoft has declined to comment on Takahashi's report, although the corporation reiterated that components for the Xbox 360 would be updated through the life cycle of the machine.
