Design a logo for the forthcoming Football Manager 2005 and earn yourself a whopping £10,000 in the process…
To celebrate todayâs announcement of âFootball Manager 2005â, Sports Interactive today announced a competition, granting fans the chance to design a new logo for the game and pick up £10,000 in prize money.
"Sports Interactive's games have always been very much 'by the fans, for the fans'," says Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive. "Alongside participating in our forums, this competition is yet another way that our fans can become involved in the creation of the game. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the entrants come up with."
Those interested should send a logo design in digital format by Thursday 8th April; upon which a shortlist of 10 finalists will be decided. The 10 short-listed candidates will then be displayed, where they will be voted out one-by-one â“ just like a reality TV show â“ until a winner is chosen
Whilst only the winning entry will receive the cash-prize, the other remaining nine finalists will receive an exclusive SI goodie bag, comprising of signed copies of âEastside Hockey Managerâ, âFootball Manager 2005â and other SI merchandise.
Jacobson offers potential entrants the following advice: "Football Manager 2005 will be the most realistic football management game ever and the design identity needs to reflect this. The logo must be confident, contemporary and stylish, while enforcing the game's 'grass roots' personality â“ realism, authenticity and depth are key to Sports Interactive and its games. The winning logo will need to work as the name 'Football Manager' but must also operate on another level as an insignia/badge (with the initials 'FM'). Finally, consideration should be given to how the logo can be developed for new Football Manager titles via adaptation of design, colour, typography and so on."
