Ignition To Release Metal Slug On Wii News

Wii remote enabled version of Metal Slug Anthology coming to Europe in early 2007...
Ignition Entertainment has today confirmed that they'll be releasing Metal Slug Anthology for Wii during the early part of 2007.
The collection will feature seven instalments in the 2D side-scrolling shooter, Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5 and Metal Slug 6, with Ignition promising Wii remote functionality. European distribution of the Anthology will be undertaken by Atari.
"The popularity of Metal Slug, whether it be on home console or Arcade is immense," says Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment ",utilising the unique control method of Wii, can only enhance the already well loved and familiar gameplay associated with the series."
Whether the Metal Slug experience will translate particularly well to Wii-based gestures will have to been seen in coming months.
