Hunt For Lionhead (Again)??? News

Reports suggest that Peter Molyneux's studio is once again an acquisition target...
Way back in the Summer of 2004, Peter Molyneux's Lionhead Studios was subject to speculation that it was being targeted by Microsoft and Activision for acquisition, though nothing materialised. Then in November 2005, rumours of a new acquisition (this time from Elevation Partners) emerged but once again the company shook off the reports to retain its independence.
In the last couple of days however new reports of a possible acquisition have appeared, this time from UK publication GamesIndustry.biz, which quotes sources 'close' to the developer that it's currently in talks with two publishers: Ubisoft and 2004 acquisition contenders, Microsoft.
Of course such speculation remains just that, with Lionhead sources reiterating the same position as they did back in November 2005 (when TVG contacted them about Elevation Partners) that the developer receives enquiries on a regular basis.
Once again we'll keep an eye on the UK developer for any further developments...
