Hayter, Gregson-Williams, and Cooper work on Snake’s forthcoming adventure…
Konami of America has today confirmed that two of the key people who helped bring a Hollywood dimension to MGS2 are working with MGS Director, Hideo Kojima, on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
David Hayter will once again be providing the vocal talent for Snake, and he recently talked about his role, saying that, "Snake is one of the most dynamic characters in video game historyâ¦I've always enjoyed developing characters and creatively exploring their personalities in my screenplays. Working with Kojima to bring this ultra-cool character to life has been a truly rewarding professional experience and certainly one of the top roles I've ever done."
Once again Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams returns to the MGS series after creating one of the most memorable themes tunes in a videogame for MGS2. Gregson-Williams has recently said that, "Instead of focusing on the time period in which the game takes place, I have created a soundtrack that is respectful of the pre-existing MGS tasteâ¦The music enhances each of the various layers of the game and augments the overall storyline. It has been a pleasure working with Hideo Kojima as he truly understands the importance music plays in setting the tone for any story."
Making his MGS debut is Kyle Cooper, who has previous created the titles sequences for films such as Se7en and Mission: Impossible. He has recently described how:
"Working with Kojima on MGS3 has given me the rare opportunity to push the boundaries of the lead-ins I traditionally create for television and movies, resulting in a new style of visual storytelling that cannot be re-created on the silver screenâ¦Unlike those for feature films or TV shows, the intro sequence to MGS3 is fully interactive and allows players to be part of the experience, not just a spectator."
At the moment, we donât quite know what Cooper means when he says that the title sequence is âfully interactiveâ, but have to admit that it does sound very intriguing. Weâll have more on MGS3: Snake Eater soonâ¦
