Acclaimed “Director of Support Services” and Level Designer announces his resignation from Raven Software…

Kenn Hoekstra today announced his shock resignation from Raven Software, leaving the US developer after seven years of service.

During that time Hoekstra was employed first as a level designer on such titles as Take no Prisoners, Hexenworld, Hexen II: Portal of Praevus, Heretic II and Solider of Fortune. A year later Hoekstra assumed the position of Raven Softwareâs Project Administrator, overseeing a wealth of titles including Heretic II Enhancement Pack, Soldier of Fortune, Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force, Elite Force Expansion Pack, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

At the present time itâs believed that Hoekstra was working on both X-Men: Legends and more importantly Quake IV, leaving some doubts about future delays to the eagerly awaited title.

The reason behind the decision appears to stem from his love of scriptwriting, from which he has completed a horror screenplay entitled âCold Frontâ and is currently working on several new ideas. Certainly Hoekstra wanted to make a break from the industry and take a risk in new ventures; although he assures us from his personal website that his current plans donât extend beyond âa couch, a case of beer and a stack of unopened DVDsâ â“ which hopefully doesnât include the Day After Tomorrow!!!

Weâd like to wish Kenn all the best for his future endeavours; although we never got a chance to meet the man in person, we certainly enjoyed playing a number of his games.
