Hip Games confirm publishing duties for a series of videogames from the zombie-king...

Hip Games today announced that it has signed an agreement with Living Dead Productions to publish a âseriesâ of videogames based on the granddaddy of zombie flicks, George A. Romero.

Laying down the foundations for the zombie genre, Romeroâs works include Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead, which have amassed huge followings down the years not to mention inspiring countless videogame franchises such as Resident Evil and Doom. The agreement marks the first time that Romero has stepped on to the videogames market, capturing the entire universe of zombies, action and gore that have become trademark qualities of Romeroâs work.

âHorror fans have been searching for the ultimate horror experience in gaming and we intend to deliver it to them with the tremendous creative input of legendary director, George A. Romero, and Living Dead Productions,â said Arindra Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hip Interactive Corp. âWe believe this series will make an important contribution to the growth and results of our Hip Games⢠division.â

âThis is a fantastic opportunity to share Georgeâs work and ideas with the game buying public, â said Simon Bailey, Managing Director of Living Dead Productions. âWe are very impressed with the quality of work that Hip will bring to the games. Georgeâs fans and gamers alike will not be disappointed!â

âI am very excited to start working in this medium and look forward to the association with Hip. I thank Living Dead Productions for making it all happen,â commented George A. Romero.

Look forward to the announcement of the first title soon.
