Over a year after Jack, Kate, and Sawyer signed up, Ubisoft confirms an adaptation of TV show, Heroes...
As videogames are already a bit swamped with adaptations of blockbuster movies, perhaps it's not surprising that hit TV shows are also beginning to get snapped up. Back in May 2006, Ubisoft announced they'd licensed Lost from ABC Studios, and just over a year later, the publisher has signed another popular TV series, this time from NBC Universal.
Just landing on terrestrial TV in the UK, Heroes follows a group of people who discover superhuman powers including the ability to bend time and space, fly, and see into the future. So far, Ubisoft aren't releasing many details of the game, including an expected release period.
"With a gripping storyline and rich characters, Heroes lends itself naturally to a video game fomat," said Christian Salomon, vice president of worldwide licensing at Ubisoft. "By offering people the chance to interact directly with the show's captivating universe, there is no doubt that the game will appeal to both fans of the series and avid gamers."
"We are very excited to be making the 'Heroes' video game with Ubisoft," said Tim Kring, executive producer and creator of "Heroes." "Time and again, Ubisoft has proven they can turn licensed properties into fantastic games."
