Arsenal`s top striker returns as one of the faces for the Pro Evo series
Last month it was announced that Chelseaâs John Terry was one of the faces of Pro Evolution Soccer 5, and today itâs been confirmed that heâll be joined by Thierry Henry of Arsenal. The two time Premiership Golden Boot winner, Henry is set to make his second consecutive appearance as one of the PES face, and will feature on the front of the game packages throughout Europe.
Making the announcement, Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director for Konami of Europe said, âWe have a vision of football and how it should be interpreted as a video gameâ¦This vision extends from the talented development team through to everyone involved with Pro Evolution Soccer 5 â“ and we are delighted that a player of Thierry Henryâs calibre [sic] buys into our ideas and enthusiasm, and are extremely pleased to have him on board for a second year. Henry shares our ideas of how we can make Pro Evolution Soccer 5 an entertaining and engrossing simulation of the most popular sport in Europe, and we look forward to working closely with this football legend.â
âI have been playing Pro Evolution Soccer games for over ten years now,â commented Henry himself. âIt was great to be the face of such a realistic and engrossing football title, so I was delighted to return for the newest version. I look forward to being closely involved with the creation and promotion of what promises to be a stunning game.â
In addition to the announcement, the press release also suggests one other piece of interesting information â“ that Konami may have struck a deal with Arsenal Football Club to license the clubâs trademarks for Pro Evolution Soccer 5. The disclaimer at the bottom of the statement says:
âThe Arsenal crest, Arsenal logotype and cannon are trademarks of Arsenal Football Club Plc and the Arsenal group of companies and are used under license. TM & © 2005 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Licensed by Granada Venturesâ
No confirmation of this has been made at the moment, itâs certainly one piece of information that weâll be keeping an eye out for in the future.
