The Dark Horse comic book character is set to make an appearance on next-gen formats in 2007...
Konami has confirmed development on a videogame adaptation of Dark Horse comic's Hellboy for PlayStation3, Xbox 360, and PSP. The game, which will be released during 2007, sees the red-skinned supernatural one track down Hermann von Klempt before he takes over the world.
As well featuring what Konami describes as a 'visceral tactical brawling experience' with gamers capable of charging up Hellboy's various attacks with context sensitivity, the title will also be playable co-operatively with a second gamer taking control of the likes of Liz Sherman or Abe Sapien.
"Hellboy unleashes the raw power of the comic book icon with devastating hand to hand combat, an intricate grappling system and fully destructible environments", said Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of European Product Management for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "Followers of the comic book and movie will delight at controlling the sheer power their favourite sharp tongued hero offers, while fans of action games will immediately be drawn into the game's spectacular graphics and intuitive yet strategic gameplay."
