For the first time ever, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam lets players experience the breakneck speed of downhill skateboard racing as they tear up the steepest terrains in the world while performing tricks and outmanoeuvring opponent. Gamers utilize an innovative and intuitive control system as they take on the role of Tony Hawk or one of nine characters and compete in specific time-based challenges in one of three gameplay modes including race, trick and slalom.

Activision confirms a PlayStation2 port of the Wii launch title; Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam heading US in the second quarter of 2007...

Activision has today confirmed that Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam will be heading to PlayStation2 during the second quarter of 2007.

The game, which formed part of the raft of launch titles for Wii at the end of 2006, featured a caricatured Hawk race across similarly stylised global locations from Edinburgh to Machu Pitcchu.

The obvious difference between the upcoming port and the Wii version is the PlayStation2's lack of motion control, removing the key novelty feature of the original. With that removed in the PS2 version, what could possibly make Project 8 gamers switch Tonys to the spin-off title?

Tony Hawk is one of the best concepts since Tetris. I am happy to see they try to go different ways, which is not easy after such success with the other games. Respect!
