Pivotal member announces his intention to leave the creator of Deus Ex and the forthcoming Thief: Deadly Shadows…

Harvey Smith today announced his intention to leave Ion Storm, leading to suggestions of internal squabbles amongst the US developer.

The news comes mere days after it was claimed that Randy Smith had also walked from his position as Lead Designer on Thief: Deadly Shadows, pouring doubt on the impending release of the title.

Although Harvey cited the need to explore other avenues in his open letter, many have already begun to speculate that the direction followed by Deus Ex: Invisible War and indeed Thief: Deadly Shadows has alienated key figures within the studio.
