The release of Halo 2 upon the US is set to break all records in the entertainment industry, with Microsoft believing a figure close to $100 million generated...
Having caused a storm upon yesterdayâs release throughout America, Microsoft representatives have told reporters at a New York investment conference of their expectations for Halo 2.
Peter Moore, Vice-President Microsoft Games Studio, quipped âIâm calling a $100 million day on âHaloâ today,â amongst claims that the launch of Halo 2 will be the biggest in the videogames industry, eclipsing even the biggest hits of the music and movie industry.
Itâs claimed that in addition to the 1.5 million pre-orders sold, retailers throughout the US saw stocks quickly diminishing, with one particular retailer shifting an almighty 8,500 units in just 11 minutes, whilst another sold 200,000 copies by daybreak on Tuesday.
In total, itâs claimed that $78 million of the total figure came from pre-sales, whilst leading financial analysts expect Halo 2 to shift close to 10 million units in total, the majority of which are expected to occur throughout November.
