Halo2 DLC Announcement Imminent News

Bungie’s weekly update confirms that a major announcement about the long-awaited Halo2 downloadable content...
For the last few weeks most of Bungieâs weekly updates have been filled with questions about what the developer has done to curb Live! cheats and whilst there have also been numerous questions about when the downloadable content will be available, the answers have failed to be forthcoming.
However in the latest update, Bungie have started the ball rolling about when the much anticipated Halo2 DLC by commenting that:
âNext week, weâre going to have a major announcement about the details of our new mapsâ¦We can't talk about how and when the new maps will be released, we'll leave that to the smart folks who actually do all the logistical work for this stuff â“ marketing and PR.â
The statement also advises that ââ¦our entire plan is designed to make new content available for everybody, those with Xbox Live and those without Xbox Live. We hope in the end, everyone will be satisfied.â
Whether the DLC will go beyond new maps and bug fixes remains to be seen, but from the general chit-chat happening on Halo2 Live! at the moment anything at this time would be better than nothing at all.
It also seems strange that Bungie would go through the hassle and effort just to release a few maps on a disc. Updates away from Live! could be distributed through official magazines, but surely making the DLC exclusive to Live! subscribers would encourage more people to sign up - it all begs the question, what are Bungie hiding?
